CHUFA / TIGER NUTS
Our tiger nuts, ground almonds or chufa are organic and shelled. Sweet, mildly nutty taste these tubers from a semi-grass, so despite the name, no nuts! Rich in magnesium and fiber!
Chufa is the Spanish name for ground almond (Cyperus esculentus L.). In English, the small nut-like tubers are called tiger nuts. In Swedish you can also say tiger nuts. They are one of the oldest cultivated plants in Egypt. There is evidence that they were cultivated as early as 6,000 years ago. Our tiger nuts are shelled and organically certified. Eat them as a healthy and tasty snack or make "horchata de chufa" - a drink - from them like in Valencia, Spain.
Magnesium contributes to normal energy metabolism and to normal psychological function. It is important to have a versatile and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
